Map Icons

You can add a variety of useful icons to your Synergy maps. Map icons help you to quickly identify the position of devices, such as cameras, alarms, and help points on your site, as well as to facilitate operations involving them. The following table describes the available map icon types.

 

Map Icon Type	Description
Camera	Identifies the location of cameras set up on your site.
Alarm	Identifies the location of alarms set up on your site.
Help Point	Identifies the location of help points set up on your site.
Macro	Allows you to execute macros set up on your system from the map.
Map Shortcut	Acts as a link to associated maps in your system.
Slot, POS and baccarat	Allows you to plot slot, POS, baccarat and roulette for gaming maps.

Camera Icons

Camera icons are a graphical representation of where your cameras are located on your site. If you hover your cursor over a camera icon, a tooltip appears, displaying the camera name and number. You can select a camera by clicking the camera icon; when you do so, its current video appears on your Video Window.

Alarm Icons

Alarm icons are a graphical representation of where your alarms are located on your site. When an alarm is broadcast, the view of the map centers on the alarm icon, identifying its location. If you hover your cursor over an alarm icon, a tooltip appears, displaying the alarm name. Any updates to the alarm status will be replicated globally across any alarm icons plotted on the map.

Help Point Icons

If you have help points set up on your site, it is useful to have icons on the map identifying their locations. When a help point is activated, the map centers on the help point icon, identifying its location.

Macro Icons

You can associate macros that have been set up in your system with icons on your maps. When you click an icon, the associated macros are displayed for selection and execution.

Map Shortcut Icons

Map shortcut icons act as hyperlinks to other maps. When you click a shortcut icon, you go to the map associated with it.

Gaming Icons

You will need the relevant integration to be able to display and use these icons.

Adding Icons to a Map

Map icons are added in the Maps application itself under Settings -> Data. See the Synergy Maps - Use It Guide for full details.

Adding Icons to a Legacy Map

If you are using legacy maps, you can set up your map icons using the Map Designer in System Setup.

1. Click the System Setup button on the Setup menu. The System Setup menu appears.

2. Click the Press for Advanced Configuration button. The Advanced System Setup menu appears.
3. Click the Maps button. The Maps menu appears.

4. Select Design Map from the Maps menu. The Map Designer appears.

Note: You must zoom in on the map to activate the Map Designer toolbar.

Adding Camera Icons

1. Click the Edit Map button on the Map Designer toolbar.
2. Click the Cameras tab on the Map Designer toolbar (shown in the previous screenshot) and select the icon that you want to use.
3. Click the Cameras tab on the Maps & Draggable Devices panel to bring the tab to the forefront of the screen.

4. From the camera tree, shown in the previous screenshot, select the camera to associate with your selected icon and drag and drop it to a position on the map that approximates the camera's physical location.

Adding Alarm Icons

1. Click the Edit Map button on the Map Designer toolbar.
2. Click the Alarms tab on the Map Designer toolbar and select the icon that you want to use.

3. Click the Alarms tab on the Maps & Draggable Devices panel to bring the tab to the forefront of the screen.

4. From the alarm tree, shown in the previous screenshot, select the alarm to associate with this icon and drag and drop it to a position on the map that approximates the alarm's physical location.

Adding Help Point Icons

1. Click the Edit Map button on the Map Designer toolbar .
2. Click the Help Points tab on the Map Designer toolbar and select the icon that you want to use.

3. Drag and drop the icon to a position on the map that approximates the help point's physical location.

Adding Macro Icons

1. Click the Edit Map button on the Map Designer toolbar.
2. Click the Macro Icons tab on the Map Designer toolbar and select the icon that you want to use.

3. Drag and drop the icon to a position anywhere on the map.

Adding Map Shortcut Icons

1. Click the Edit Map button on the Map Designer toolbar.
2. Click the Map Short Cut Icons tab on the Map Designer toolbar and select the icon that you want to use.

3. Drag and drop the icon to a position anywhere on the map.
