Migrating from Legacy Flat Maps to Current Synergy Maps
Synergy has a migration tool to allow customers to move from legacy flat maps to the current Synergy maps solution.
If you are on the old style of maps, go to Setup -> System Setup -> Full Configuration Wizard -> Maps to open the maps wizard page.
You will see the option Migrate Maps.
You can then simply select the maps to be migrated and click Migrate. The tool will have pre-selected all maps that it thinks can be migrated by default and you will simply need to de-select any that you do not wish to migrate.
If there are any maps that Synergy thinks cannot be migrated, these will not be selected and a reason will be given in the Issue column. This could be for example, if the map name is already in use in the new mapping system or the underlying images for the legacy map are missing. In this case, you cannot proceed. If the issue is more minor, for
The progress bar will keep you updated on how much of the migration has completed.
All links and map icons such as cameras, alarms, POS and baccarat icons are also migrated. Roulette is not yet working so you could still migrate but these would not display as they are not yet available in Synergy Maps.
Note: Performance may be slow as migration can take time.
If a migration fails, it will display as shown.
To see the migrated maps in the latest Synergy Maps, upgrade to the latest version of Synergy which automatically contains maps or go to your client configuration settings and switch gisenabled to true. The maps should now be visible.
Note: Clustering is disabled by default for migrated maps. Generally default settings are used to make the map behave more like a legacy map as this makes it an easier transition for users.
Deleting Maps and Legacy Map Icons
You can delete the legacy maps once migration has taken place.
To delete the map icons, use the Delete Legacy Icons button at the bottom of the Map Icons report.
You will need to enable a permission to see this button on the report.
-
Go to Setup -> System Setup -> Advanced Configuration -> Users -> Setup User Group Permissions.
-
Select the appropriate user group to change. De-select All Authority on the Settings page.
-
Select Functions -> Setup Detail.
-
Enable the Delete Legacy Icons permission. Select Save.
