Mapping
When you install Synergy, Synergy Maps is also installed by default. This chapter will give you an overview of the basic mapping features. For more detailed information on mapping and its features, see the Synergy Maps - Use It Guide.
Synergy Maps allows you to add maps to the system representing your entire security area, or specific segments of it. In addition, you can organize maps in a hierarchy (or tree) to define areas of your site and to highlight maps of greater detail for selected areas.
You can use maps to display boundaries, population areas, physical features (site or room layouts), natural resources, roads, or general areas of activity.
Unlike most other conventional systems, where camera selection is made by number, in Synergy you can also select a camera by selecting its associated icon on a map or schematic diagram.
If you have older legacy maps and upgrade your Synergy, your Synergy will remain on legacy GIS mapping.
To switch between the two, use the client configuration setting gisenabled. To view this setting, go to Setup -> System Setup -> Advanced Configuration -> Workstations -> Client Configuration Settings -> Misc and set this to true/false, as applicable.
