Mandatory Password Changes
To ensure the security of your Synergy server, immediately following installation and completion of the client configuration wizard, a prompt will appear requiring the user to enter a secure password.
An error message will appear first. Click OK to proceed.
The Change Password dialog box will open. Enter the old password followed by a new password twice. If an old password does not exist, the field can be left blank.
The new password must be complex; it must have at least eight letters and have a combination of letters and numbers. When a suitable password has been entered in both fields, click OK.
If the new password does not meet requirements, an error message will be shown. Click OK and return to the previous dialog box to enter a suitable password.
Passwords in User Setup
When first accessing the System Setup menu, you will be prompted to add strong passwords for the default user groups.
Click OK to begin adding passwords per user group.
The new password must be typed twice.
The new password must be complex; it must have at least eight letters and have a combination of letters and numbers. When a suitable password has been entered in both fields, click OK.
A dialog box to change the password for the next user group will then appear. When passwords have been changed for all user groups, this process is complete.
