Parent and Child Incidents
Synergy supports the concept of parent and child incidents. Allocation takes place within the Live Incidents tab or retrospectively in the incident on the Related Data tab.
In the Live Incidents tab:
If you have selected an incident, you can click on the icon to the right-hand side of any other incident to make that incident a child of the selected parent incident.
The Data Id field on the Related Data tab for the incident also contains details of parent and child incidents. Click on the hyperlink to see the associated incident.
If the incident is a child incident, you will also see a Parent Incident button at the bottom right of the incident record. Click this to switch to the parent incident.
Messages from other related incidents are also displayed in the Messages tab. The incident ID is displayed in the Source field. This shows if it belongs to the current incident.
Synergy also logs the creation of any parent/child relationships in the Incident Transactions log. The permission of the activity is limited by the incident permission ‘Relate Parent Child Incidents’.
On the Related Data tab:
Go to System Data -> Incident Data. Click on the incident ID and go to Related Data. Here you can set parent and child relationships retroactively.
