Including Management Approval for a Video Clip
You can configure your incident management process to add additional management approval for any video footage added to your clip basket using the configuration setting incidentVideoApproval . Once configured, Synergy will display two new buttons at the bottom of the clip basket GUI, Approval and Validate.
Note: Operation of these is restricted by the permissions Incident Video Approval and Incident Video Approval Validate. An operator would be expected to have ‘Approval’ permission only where a supervisor would have ‘Validate’ permission. These can be configured from Advanced Configuration menu by going to Users -> User Group Permissions.
When an operator has created a selection of clips and clicks Validate to subsequently request approval, the incident form displays as normal.
However, instead of saving the incident, the operator must select from a list of users with the appropriate permissions to validate the clip.
The event basket is then cleared and a validation request is sent to the target supervisor, who can then review.
The supervisor can then either click Approval or alternatively reject the incident and add a comment.
The incident is sent back to the operator. If approved, the footage can be saved to the incident immediately. If not, the clip basket is repopulated and the process begins again.
If
-
No supervisor is online,
-
The supervisor goes offline during the approval process,
-
Or if the supervisor sends the incident back to the operator,
operators will be able to view them in the Pending option located at the bottom of the clip basket GUI.
When sent back for further review, Synergy will automatically choose the same supervisor that previously reviewed if logged on. If not available, an alternative reviewer can be selected by the operator.
