The Menu Bar

The remaining menus on the Menu Bar provide access to the functions of Synergy. The following screenshots and tables describe the buttons, controls, and features on each menu.

The Video Menu

The Video Menu

60 Min from Live	Rewind video back 60 minutes from live.
4 Hours from Live	Rewind video back 4 hours from live.
1 Day from Live	Rewind video back 24 hours from live.
Specific Time	Rewind video to an exact date and time.
Go to Live	Revert from recorded video to live viewing.
Capture Image	Take a snapshot of the current live or recorded screen image.
Capture Layout	Take a snapshot of the entire video layout.
Manage Snapshots	Preview and save snapshots to images; delete snapshots.
Bulk Upload	Upload video for all cameras in a selected map area for a specific date and time period.
Manage Lockers	View video storage locker contents; import and export incidents; validate incidents; remove video-related incidents.
Follow Me	Access monitors programmed to show replications of your camera switches and actions.
Blackout Video	Apply blackout filters to video windows to shield sensitive footage from view during recorded video playback.
Review Lockers	Review video storage locker contents.
Disk Burner	Access the incident disk burner to export incidents to removable media, along with an optional copy of the Synectics Media Player 2 application.
On Screen Display	Control settings for OSD such as text position, font, font size, font color, background color, frame count, and statistics.
Display	Control settings for display brightness, contrast, color, and sharpness.
Audio Control	Control audio balance and volume.
Play Frame Rate	Adjust video playback speed.
Default Clip Duration	Set default clip durations.
Digital Presets	Select from 1-4 viewer preset zoom in positions.
Reference Images	Take snapshots to save as points of reference in motion search queries.
Change Resolution	Display resolution; control settings for how the image fills the window and its height-to-width display ratio.
Interlace Settings	Adjust video display options to reduce motion blur (interlaced images).
Fisheye Lens Control	Adjust image to correct for fisheye lens distortion.
Image Adjustment	Enable mirrored or rotated images on screen.
Video File Convert	Select a file format to export video to.

The Video Layouts Menu

The Video Layouts Menu
Button	Function
Multi-Screen Layouts	Select multi-screen configuration for live or recorded video playback.
Investigation Layout	Layout for investigation query with footage snapshots (still images) from one camera over a designated time period on 16 screens, allowing for a rapid search for scene changes.
Quad Investigation Layout	Layout for investigation query with footage from one camera in four windows, each for a successive designated time period.
Alarm Thumbnails Layout	Layout for investigation query that allows for a fast review of alarms within a designated time period.
Motion Search layout	Layout for investigation query to detect motion in relationship to a previously saved reference image.
Map Salvo	Create and use a salvo from a map and play multiple cameras from the map
User Layouts	Create and edit user-defined multi-screen video layouts.

The Macros & Tours Menu

The Macros & Tours Menu

Run Macro	Start a macro run.
Run Favourite	Start a favorite macro run.
Stop My Macros	Stop macros.
Start System Tour	Begin playback of a camera tour that uses multiple cameras and their preset positions.
Monitor Sequences	Begin playback of a series of video clips from multiple PTZ or fixed cameras with one preset position.
Start Workflow	Start pre-defined series of steps in response to an alarm event.
Start Camera Tour	Begin playback of a series of video clips from one PTZ camera rotating through multiple preset positions.
Start Patrol	Begin playback of a series of video clips from multiple PTZ cameras.

The Operations Menu

Handover Notes	Leave messages for incoming users on a digital notepad.
Manage Diaries	Add or update assigned calendar tasks for users.
Send Message	E-mail or text message another user or user group.
Synergy Messenger	Chat online with another user.
Add Cam Share	Share live footage with other sites or request live footage from their cameras.
Camera Shares	See a list of footage being shared and consumed by the client.
Camera Control	Control camera PTZ, focus, and preset positions.
Camera Functions	Set up and access camera preset positions; control camera lenses; access auxiliary camera functions; access camera information.
Preset Manager	Set up and operate camera preset positions.
Last Camera	Return the currently selected video window to the previous camera displayed.
Add Virtual Camera	Save the current camera position and zoom level as a virtual camera in the Synergy system for quick access.
Object Counts	Search for people counts by selected cameras and selected time periods.
Live Object Counts	Access entry and exit counts for selected cameras.
Live Summary Button	View real-time object count updates on the Events tab.

Book Advance Visitor	Pre-book a visiting person.

The Forms & Reports Menu

System Reports	Select and create output for user, incident, alarm, device details, faults, gaming, and favorite reports.
Forms	Output report data in forms format.
Chart Reports	Output report data in chart format.
Patrol Logs	Log of camera patrols by date and time.
Operational Logs	Log of daily events, alarms, and incidents.
Designed Incident Reports	Run incident reports with new or existing designs.
Workflow Logs	Log of workflow occurrences.
Daily Logs	Log of every user's daily actions in the system.
System Data Reports	Run reports from functions on the System Data menu.

The Customize View Menu

The menu options extend further to the right; use the scroll arrows on the menu bar to access them.

The Customize View Menu
Button	Function
Empty Grid	Configure Primary Window, Secondary Window, or both with a single panel layout to which you can drag, drop, and resize tabs. Features reference dots for tab placement and resizing.
Snap Grid Size	Configure the size of the interstices between reference dots in the Empty Grid.
EX300 View	Create a dedicated EX300 view. This layout is available for selection on the EX300. A selection of components is available on Customize View specifically for this EX300 layout in a dedicated EX300 section. New layouts will be synchronized whenever the EX300 restarts. Any components added on an EX300 layout will not display tabs above the components.
Empty Six	Create a view starting with six empty panels.
Empty Four	Create a view starting with four empty panels.
Save View	Save your custom view.
Save View As	Name your custom view.
Delete View	Delete your custom view.
Revert View	Return to the previous view.
The remaining buttons on the Customize View menu are tabs that you can drag and drop to your view. They are arranged in the following groups and have the following functions:

Video	Tabs to control and manage video.
Report Tables	Tabs to view and search various reports available on Synergy system functions.

The Setup Menu

The Setup Menu

System Setup	Configure the Synergy system; set up users and groups; set permissions; create macros; set up alarms.
Change Password	Change your password.
Favourite Macros	Configure macros that should be saved as favourites.
Joystick Calibration	Configure the calibration for your joystick, if using.
Look And Feel	Change the Graphical User Interface (GUI) background.
Default Views	Set the views that should be shown as default.
Default Buttons	Set the buttons that should be displayed in the bottom Synergy menu.
User Buttons	Configure your workstation with default buttons.
Toggle Lock GUI	Lock toggle capability.
Client Configurator	Run the Synergy Client Configuration Wizard, where aspects of this client, such as server communications, workstation and video settings are configured.
Cybersecurity Checklist	Validate cybersecurity checks for all aspects of Synergy.
Software Versions	View Synergy software version information.
